During one of their national conferences in Laguna Beach, CA, Outerwall employees wanted to further enforce team-building by incorporating a volunteer project into their visit. Outerwall consulted OneOC, and we crafted a Custom Volunteer Project for their team at the Blind Children’s Learning Center in Tustin. Volunteers participated in 5 sensory activities where they engaged 53 students of the Blind children’s Learning Center and experienced life without vision and/or hearing. Volunteers also assembled and personalized 53 art supply bags for students to creatively use for their art projects throughout the year.
“My team greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with OneOC to volunteer our time at the Blind Children’s Learning Center – it really helped to provide perspective to the great work that is going on in our own backyards surrounding organizations that are providing a valuable service to families in need of assistance. Giving back to our community is a core tenet for both my sales team and Outerwall Inc. and as we have a diverse group spread out across the US, the time we spent helped energize us to learn how we can best contribute locally throughout the year.” -Wil Johnson, Senior VP of Sales, Outerwall
